How to Cope with Dry Skin

Dry skin is one of the worst feelings ever.  But you can learn to deal with it and get rid of it if you take care of your skin properly.  Here are some tips for  getting your dry skin gone for good.
1.  Take an oil bath.  Fill a tub with warm water and add some oil to it.  You can use plain old baby oil if you please or buy one made for dry skin.  Castor oil could even work.  Soak in the tub for several minutes to soften your skin and get some moisture in.
2.  Gentle pat your skin when you are done with a bath or shower.  Never rub at your skin or this could make it worse.  When your skin is still damp, apply a good lotion to your entire body.  You will need to do this every time you bathe so you lock in moisture.  If you miss a day, your skin could revert back and you do not want that dry skin again.
3. Limit yourself in the shower to just enough time to wash your hair and wash your body.  Standing in the shower too long could strip your skin of too many oils, causing drier skin.
4.  Apply lotion as needed for dry skin.  If you are scratching and itching all the time, you should try appling the lotion more to combat scratching.  You could even try calamine lotion or a hydrocortizone cream.
5.  Drink up your water.  This will ensure that your skin is well hydrated, making dry skin easier to combat.
