How to Cope with Dry Skin

Dry Skin

Dry skin is one of the worst feelings ever.  But you can learn to deal with it and get rid of it if you take care of your skin properly.  Here are some tips for  getting your dry skin gone for good.
1.  Take an oil bath.  Fill a tub with warm water and add some oil to it.  You can use plain old baby oil if you please or buy one made for dry skin.  Castor oil could even work.  Soak in the tub for several minutes to soften your skin and get some moisture in.
2.  Gentle pat your skin when you are done with a bath or shower.  Never rub at your skin or this could make it worse.  When your skin is still damp, apply a good lotion to your entire body.  You will need to do this every time you bathe so you lock in moisture.  If you miss a day, your skin could revert back and you do not want that dry skin again.
3. Limit yourself in the shower to just enough time to wash your hair and wash your body.  Standing in the shower too long could strip your skin of too many oils, causing drier skin.
4.  Apply lotion as needed for dry skin.  If you are scratching and itching all the time, you should try appling the lotion more to combat scratching.  You could even try calamine lotion or a hydrocortizone cream.
5.  Drink up your water.  This will ensure that your skin is well hydrated, making dry skin easier to combat.
Follow these simple steps and your dry skin could be a thing of the past.  Good ridance. (www.hubpages.com)

How to Smooth The Skin

It is easy to have smooth skin, and you do not have to pay a fortune to buy the product at department store prices. There is a way to make a really simple and effective scrub by following the advice as suggested. Use it twice a week to get finer skin texture.

Steps

  1. Buy a bag of brown sugar. Make sure it is not golden. The high blackstrap molasses content helps to exfoliate, like a chemical peel (in a very mild sense). Wet your face only, don't wash it yet. Add a little water to the sugar.
  2. Scrub your face in gentle, wide, circular upstrokes. When the sugar is dissolved and worked well into your skin, just let the paste rest on your skin. Rinse and wash after about 10 minutes. Use toner if you wish.
  3. Moisturize. This cannot be emphasized enough, no matter how young you are. Use day and night cream, as wrinkles can start as early as age 20.

 Tips

  • Use a facial scrub that dissolves (like sugar) instead of using micro beads is better for your skin. Micro beads can become lodged in your pores.
  • There are many facial scrubs sold that might work just as good or better. Try them, if this does not seem to work.
  • For oily skin try using kosher salt, ground aspirin (bonus of getting rid of acne) or baking soda
  • For dry, sensitive skin try oatmeal or cornmeal
  • Try St.Ives Apricot Scrub. It softens your face and leaves a delicious smell. But it also cleanses skin.(www.wikihow.com)
